On September 21, 2016, Governor Snyder signed House Bills 4209, 4210 and 4827 into law, which provide for the commercial production and retail sale of medical marijuana to patients and caregivers.

License Information

  • Grower - Class A (500 plants) Class B (1,000 plants) and Class C (1,500 plants), permits the licensee to grow and cultivate up to 1,500 plants, depending on the class of license, for marijuana sales to provisioning centers and processors.
  • Processor - Permits the licensee to purchase marijuana from a grower to make a marijuana-infused product, which can then be sold to provisioning centers.
  • Provisioning Center - A retail storefront permitted to sell commercial produced marijuana and marijuana-infused products to licensed caregivers and patients.
  • Secured Transporter - Transfers medical marijuana between marijuana facilities for a fee.
  • Safety Compliance Facility - Tests medical marijuana from licensees and caregivers for contaminants, mold, pesticides and THC and CBD levels.
